Across our working areas including Fair Oak (SO50, SO53), Eastleigh (SO50), Chandler’s Ford (SO53), Winchester (SO22, SO23) and Southampton (SO14, SO15, SO16, SO17, SO18, SO19) the underlying ground is predominantly clay-based or mixed clay subsoil. Clay soils naturally: * Hold water in wet periods * Become soft and saturated in winter * Shrink, crack and harden during dry spells * Move seasonally, causing minor settlement or surface cracking These effects are normal for Hampshire ground conditions and are not defects in workmanship. ⸻ Weather Sensitivity Turf installation is highly weather-dependent. During wet or cold periods: * Rooting can take 4–8 weeks * Growth is minimal * Surface softness and standing water are common During warm, dry or windy periods: * Turf can dry out within hours * Curling, shrinkage gaps and die-back can occur without proper watering Moore & Son Bricklaying Ltd installs to best practice but cannot control rainfall, frost, heatwaves, drought or water restrictions. ⸻ Forecast-Based Scheduling To protect the finish and reduce failure risk, installation may be delayed during: * Heavy rain or waterlogged ground * Frost or freezing overnight temperatures * Extreme heat or strong drying winds This is done to safeguard the quality of the completed lawn. ⸻ Customer Watering – Non-Negotiable Customer must: * Water twice daily for first 10 days in warm weather * Continue daily watering for minimum 21 days * Keep turf constantly moist during the establishment period Failure to water correctly is the primary cause of turf failure and is classed as neglect, not a defect. ⸻ Warranty Limitation Our workmanship warranty covers installation only. It does not cover turf failure or ground movement caused by: * Weather conditions * Clay soil saturation or shrinkage * Drought, frost or heat stress * Pets, heavy foot traffic or misuse * Inadequate watering or aftercare ⸻
