Terms and Conditions Overview

Moore & Son Bricklaying Ltd – Terms, Payments & Warranty

By requesting a quotation, booking a site visit, accepting a quotation, paying a deposit, instructing us to order materials, or allowing works to commence (whether verbally, by message/email, handshake, or signed contract), you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Where a signed contract exists, the signed contract shall take priority.

1) Quotations & Acceptance

Quotations are valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise. Any change to scope, design, access, materials, levels, drainage, ground conditions or specifications may require a revised quotation. No works will commence without receipt of the required deposit.

2) Deposits, Materials & Payment Structure

A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking date.
Example: £10,000 project = £2,500 deposit.

For projects requiring significant materials, all materials delivered or ordered for your job must be paid in full prior to works commencing, unless agreed otherwise in writing.

Standard payment structure is:
1. Deposit – 25% to book the job
2. Midway payment upon completion of preparation/base works or agreed milestone
3. Final payment immediately upon practical completion and handover

Payment stages may be split further only if confirmed in writing.

3) Late Payments & Interest Charges

Invoices are due as stated on the invoice or immediately upon completion.

Any invoice not paid by the due date will automatically incur the following charges:

Days overdue 1–7: 5% of outstanding balance
Days overdue 8–14: 10% of outstanding balance
Days overdue 15–30: 20% of outstanding balance
Days overdue 31+: 35% of outstanding balance

Charges apply per invoice. We reserve the right to suspend works, withhold services, and recover outstanding balances including recovery costs and legal fees.

4) Variations & Additional Works

No additional work will be carried out unless quoted and agreed in writing. Client-requested changes may alter cost and timescale.

5) Client Responsibilities

You agree to provide clear access, parking and working conditions, confirm boundaries and buried services, keep children and pets away from work areas, and ensure all permissions or approvals are in place.

6) 12-Month Workmanship Warranty

We provide a 12-month workmanship warranty from completion covering installation faults caused by poor workmanship such as loose slabs or failed pointing.

This does not cover settlement, movement, tree roots, drainage failure, weather damage, fair wear and tear, manufacturer defects, or third-party interference.

All issues must be reported promptly and within the warranty period, allowing us reasonable access to inspect and rectify.

7) Maintenance, Sealing & Aftercare

Many surfaces require proper maintenance. If aftercare is declined, ongoing maintenance becomes the client’s responsibility. Works altered or cleaned by third parties void responsibility.

8) Extended Warranty Options

Extended warranties and maintenance plans may be available for an additional fee and must be agreed in writing.

9) Complaints Procedure

All issues must be raised directly with Moore & Son Bricklaying Ltd and we must be given opportunity to inspect and resolve before any third-party involvement.

10) Photography & Marketing

We may photograph completed works for marketing unless notified otherwise in writing.

Payment of deposit confirms acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

Deposits are non-refundable after 14 days from the date of payment, as booking dates are reserved, labour is scheduled and materials may be ordered.
If the client cancels after this period, the deposit will be retained in full.
